Sagwe Furnished Apartments, off Mbagathi Road

Tucked away off Mbagathi Road near the Golf Course Commercial Centre in Ngumo, Sagwe Furnished Apartments has carved out a niche for travelers who want more than a standard hotel room. It's a small aparthotel — just six individually decorated units — but what it lacks in scale it makes up for in character, offering guests fully furnished studios and one and two-bedroom apartments with a distinctive touch: an aquarium separating the living room from the rest of the space.

What Makes Sagwe Furnished Apartments Stand Out

Ngumo sits in a convenient pocket of Nairobi, close enough to the city center for business trips yet quiet enough for longer stays. The area is well known among locals for its golf course and proximity to Nairobi Hospital and Strathmore University, making Sagwe a practical base for medical visitors, students' families, and short-term business travelers alike. The property is also a short walk from AIC Church and the Kenyatta Local Market, giving guests easy access to everyday shopping without leaving the neighborhood. Each of the six rooms is individually decorated, a rare touch in a market where furnished apartments often look identical from unit to unit. Guests sleep on memory foam beds dressed in premium bedding, and every room comes with a private kitchen equipped with a microwave and the essential cookware and dishes needed for self-catering. Bathrooms are stocked with complimentary toiletries and hair dryers, and the 43-inch LED televisions come with premium satellite channels as well as Netflix — a detail that sets Sagwe apart from many budget aparthotels in the area, where entertainment options are often an afterthought. Connectivity is well covered too. Both wired and wireless internet are available throughout the property at no extra cost, and housekeeping is provided daily rather than on the weekly schedule common at many serviced apartments. For guests without a car, the location still works in their favor — the Ngumo Stage bus station is roughly a ten-minute walk away, and taxis and ride-hailing services are easy to arrange from the property. Sagwe also leans into the practicalities that longer-staying guests tend to care about. Marble flooring runs through the units, giving them a slightly more polished feel than the price point might suggest, and the property offers 24-hour room service alongside a small on-site restaurant and bar for guests who don't feel like cooking every night. Complimentary bottled water and slippers are provided as standard, small touches that add up over a multi-night stay. Free parking is available on-site, a genuine convenience in a neighborhood where street parking is not always guaranteed. The surrounding area rewards guests who like to explore on foot. Nairobi National Museum and the Nairobi Arboretum are both within a short drive, and Nairobi National Park itself is roughly fifteen minutes away, making Sagwe a workable base for visitors who want to combine city meetings with a quick safari excursion. Nearby restaurants and bars mean guests aren't limited to the property's own dining options, and the presence of a golf course right next door gives sporty guests something to do without needing to travel far. What consistently stands out about Sagwe, based on how the property presents itself, is the attempt to make a small apartment building feel personal rather than generic. The aquarium detail in the living rooms is emblematic of that approach — a small, memorable touch in a category of accommodation where most properties blend together. For travelers who want a self-contained apartment with hotel-style support services, in a well-connected but relatively quiet part of Nairobi, Sagwe Furnished Apartments offers a solid, characterful option.
