Businesses that buy pharmaceutical products in bulk for resale to retail pharmacies, hospitals, or other outlets need a wholesale dealer’s licence under Section 27 of the Pharmacy and Poisons Act, Cap 244. This is distinct from a retail pharmacy licence and carries its own premises and licensing requirements administered by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
