What Makes Chester Hotel & Suites Stand Out

Chester House itself is something of a landmark in Nairobi's CBD, and the hotel makes the most of that address. Being on Koinange Street puts guests within easy walking distance of banks, supermarkets, malls, health clubs, and markets selling African souvenirs, along with several of Nairobi's major hospitals and government buildings, including Parliament and the Kenyatta International Conference Centre. For business travelers with meetings scattered across the city center, this kind of central footing removes a lot of the usual back-and-forth. The hotel offers a mix of room types, including Standard One Bedroom Apartments, Executive One Bedroom Apartments, and Studio Apartments, giving guests some flexibility depending on how long they're staying and how much space they need. Interiors combine cultural and contemporary design elements, and many rooms open onto a balcony with sweeping views across the city — a detail the hotel markets heavily, and one that guests often mention as a highlight, especially given the hotel's elevated position in a dense urban setting. Rooms are equipped with the essentials for both short and extended stays: an iron and ironing board, Wi-Fi, an electric kettle, a mini fridge, a work desk, a dining area, and a TV. On-site dining comes courtesy of the Fiesta Restaurant, which serves international cuisine across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and happy hour, along with a coffee shop and hair salon for guests who want a full range of services without leaving the building. A bar and terrace add a bit of relaxation space to what is otherwise a fairly business-focused property, and dry cleaning and laundry services are available for guests staying longer or traveling for work. Nairobi's cultural and recreational sites are all within easy reach from this address. Uhuru Park is about 1.6 kilometres away, the Maasai Market roughly 1.7 kilometres, and the National Museum of Kenya around 2.7 kilometres — distances that make a car unnecessary for guests who enjoy exploring on foot or by short taxi ride. The Nairobi Railway Station and GPO bus stop are both close by too, useful for guests connecting onward by public transport. Guest reviews often highlight the well-maintained, fully furnished units — kitchen, bedroom, living room, and balcony all coming in for praise — along with the sheer convenience of having shops and services within a short walk. The hotel's 3.5-star rating reflects a solidly mid-range property rather than a luxury destination, but for travelers whose priority is location above all else, Chester Hotel & Suites is difficult to beat. For business travelers, government visitors, or anyone who simply wants to be at the center of Nairobi's daily rhythm, Chester Hotel & Suites offers a practical, well-connected, and genuinely historic base to work from.
