The Regulatory Framework

Pharmaceutical technologists form a critical cadre in Kenya's pharmaceutical sector, providing essential pharmaceutical services under regulatory oversight. Every enrolled pharmaceutical technologist practicing in Kenya is required to obtain a practice license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board in accordance with Section 9A of the Pharmacy and Poisons Act, Cap 244.

The Pharmacy and Poisons Board maintains the Roll of Pharmaceutical Technologists in Kenya. For a person's name to be entered in the Roll, they must satisfy the Board that they hold a qualification recognized under the Pharmacy and Poisons Act and meet other requirements including supervised attachment as prescribed under the Act.

About the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB)

The PPB serves as the regulatory authority for pharmaceutical technologists, ensuring professional standards and public safety. The Board regulates pharmaceutical practice, training, and licensure for all pharmaceutical professionals in Kenya.
